Lake Sumerville? - 03/28/21 04:53 PM
Never fished the lake before and may take a trip real soon. Where is the best place to stay that has good parking for boats? Is the lake easy to run or does it have a lot of hazardous spots to watch for? Where is the best place to launch or is there only one ramp?

All hazards are marked.
You’re good to run. Just pay attention to the markers around Welch Point and SW of Rocky SP.
West end from Nails SP is super shallow.
Crappie are in 7-12FOW on brush
Whitebass/Hybrids have been hit/miss with folks trolling pet spoons.

My friend and I have reserved a camping spot (Tent only area) on Rocky Point for mid May for a long weekend and will be bringing my boat.. please report back how your trip went as I have never been to Somerville myself (Mainly just fish Belton and StillHouse Hollow lakes).

I would not take off out of overlook and run left. lots of shallow rock in that cove.
