Great day and a couple of first

We headed out Saturday (3-6-21) to Amistad. The day was a little chilly but it warmed up later in the day. Started fishing a cove, but didnt catch anything till we got to the bluff walls. Thats where we started catching fish.






We fished till 6 then pulled in to a little cove to have supper. Jalapeno Cheese sausage wraps always taste best on the water

In that same little cove Leo caught a small mouth and a large mouth bass both caught on a 1/32 oz solid red jig.


We threw out our catfish rods baited with live blue gill that we also caught with the jigs. Turned on the lights and did a little jigging. We caught a large mouth and a white bass. Also caught a small flathead on one of the catfish rods.



I caught my first striper bass. It was a great fight on 8lb test they pull so hard!

Then to end the day five minutes later a crazy catch for me a huge shad!

This was the first shad I have ever caught. It hit like a train.. I caught them both on a 1/4 oz purple and silver jig. We caught a total of 36 fish all on 1/32, 1/16 and1/4 oz JIGLYF jigs all released to swim another day. It was a great day to be on the water!
