Lake Travis 3/7/2021 - 03/08/21 09:35 PM
Water temps: 54-55 back of creeks up to 62.
Visibility Clear 6-8' from dam to Pace Bend. >10' deep water coves.
Water Level: 22 low
We arrived at Lake Travis just before noon after church, paid the $20 (gulp) and launched from ramp 3 at Jonestown. Ramps1&2 are closed due to water level. Air temps warmed up to upper 60's and we were treated to mostly clear skies and winds NE 10. I talked to another angler at the ramp as we were pulling in and he told me he was tossing in the towel setting my expectation low. We headed out opting to skip the main lake and leisurely made our way up to Tournament Point. This was the first time my wife has been on the lake on a boat so I was glad we enjoyed a mostly wake free ride. We had a few bites around Pace Bend but didn't get any landed and decided to head up river to find dirtier water. Pedernales didn't yield any fish so we headed up to the Narrows to scout. I landed one on a spinner but the wind picked up and really messed up the approach so we headed back to fish a couple of creek arms. We were rewarded with a few keepers flipping docks. I only saw one bed the entire afternoon but hopefully that's a good sign the main migration should be happening soon.
