They are pumping in water, but it's still really low. Maybe it's up a foot, but the ramp is still nearly out of the water. Speaking of water it smelled like a dang construction site rent a can. P-YEW!!! No real fishing report except they were not shallow or deep or in between. They did not want shad crank, crawfish crank, green swim bait, white swim jig, 10" tequila sunrise ribbon tail, shad drop shot....you get the idea. The only thing I even got picked up with was dark green baby brush hog in about 3', but I never got a hook set. The two times I got picked up they grabbed the tail and moved it, never accepted the hook.
Talked with a COA guy at the ramp, asked what they were up to. he said water testing. I said "Yep, that's water!" which got a laugh. I asked him how was the water quality and he said one word and I quote..."TERRIBLE". I felt like saying well no $#!+ when you let the lake nearly dry up and there is no rain to replenish it the quality is gonna suck.
Anyway, no fish for the old Army green Skeeter today.
(I knew I shoulda gone ahead and went to Fayette while there wasn't much wind!)
First time I've seen power plant in operation in a long time.
