AMISTAD BASS GUIDE REPORT 11/17/2020 - 11/17/20 07:44 PM

WATER LEVEL 1,073.41 Feet MSL
Tuesday, Nov 17, 2020
Level is 43.59 feet below full pool of 1,117.00

WATER TEMP: 68-69

Typical Fall days are here. Its an occasional North blowing cold front with white caps or a sunny warm calm day in need of sunscreen. Either way its always a fun day on the lake. Stripers and whites have been a bit more consistent than the largemouth but as always every day is different. Lately whites/stripers have been schooling on the surface and the calm days its 60-80ft. Couple days ago we caught 40+ whites, few stripers, and a half dozen largemouth from surface schooling to shallow grass then 78ft on the bottom. One of the pictures shows a largemouth with the "bends". It was caught 78ft on the bottom. Spoons, tailkickers, dropshots, spinnerbaits, have been working...The Hydrilla is still in good shape around the lake. The deepest Ive seen lately is 18ft. If you find the largemouth in the grass youll have a blast. For me the quality grass bass seem to be on the move daily. Catch a few good ones one day and gone the next. Its a continuous game of hunting. My heaviest largemouth lately has been 6lbs. A couple days in a row we watched double digit fish follow the bait to the boat then stop and stare. True giants. They acted like they were spawning. Few weeks ago a weekly local 3 fish tournament was won with 3 for 22lbs. Congrats Galindo! Picture shows the 2 8-9lbrs... There are lots of fish on shad suspended and scattered at depths 50-80 ft. Over a week or so a deep area that had been productive held a massive amount of bait in 60-70ft. The following day I returned and all of the bait was gone. I thought they moved up. As we idled to take off the graph lit up. All of the bait moved to 80-90ft. The next day it was just the opposite. They returned to 60. the fish hunt continues... Last Saturday 11/14/20 was the Del Rio Border Bass Battle Hourly tournament. It was won with a 6+. The 15 and under division was won with a 7+. Congrats to the winners..
