AMISTAD BASS GUIDE REPORT 8/21/19 - 08/21/19 12:36 PM
8/21/19
WATER LEVEL: 1,085.82
31.18 feet below full pool of 1,117.00 & falling
WATER TEMP: mid to high 80s
Water continues to drop and fish are scattered from top to 30ft. The topwater bite has been good early around grass but only if you find a school. You can fish a lot of grass without a bite then in one small area catch several. Dock talk and tackle store chatter has mostly been swimbaits and shallow grass. Texas Fishing Leagues first central division tournament was last Saturday with 55 boats. 19.14lbs won. I was 4th with 12 1/2lbs. My fish were all shallow and caught on topwater, crankbaits, and Tx rigs. We culled several keepers early but unfortunately we lost the needed 5-6lb kicker. The top 3 teams had fish over 5 1/2lbs. 6.16 was big fish of the tournament... Trolling for stripers 20-30ft over 100ft has been producing for some. Same as largemouth in the grass, nothing for a while then hit a school and double up every pass... The annual Big Bass Mexico 2 day tournament is this coming weekend. It’s an hourly Big Fish on Saturday and a 5 fish limit on Sunday. Call Karlens Tackle for info. The masked bandit in the picture is Carlos from Karlens Tackle taken yesterday. We went out for a few hours and he found a good one on a Tx Rig .. If you’re interested in a guide trip feel free to call or text me (830) 768-3648. www.amistadbass.com Thanks, Stan
