Amistad Bass Guide Report 8/29/18 - 08/30/18 03:28 AM

www.amistadbass.com: Lately Ive been catching largemouth and stripers mixed together from topwater to 60ft. The schools are on the surface one day then suspended deep the next. Once the school is located its easy to catch 50 to 100 stripers/whites with an occasional keeper largemouth. My better largemouth have been in and around the hydrilla from surface to 20ft. The dropping water has matted the grass in several areas and killing it in others. Wind over the past two weeks has made a few clear grassy areas stained to dirty and the bite has changed with it... Most topwater baits will get a fish or three and flipping/pitching the thick matted clumps will produced a quality fish however the bites will be few and far between.. A 49 boat tournament last Saturday it took 15.96 to win and a 8.02 was big fish... Please call/text if I can help (830) 768-3648. www.amistadbass.com.. Thanks, Stan

Wow, an Amistad report. Where have you been? We need more though, please don’t follow tpw style report! We need more specifics!

And il start it off by saying I was there 2 weeks ago and only got about 7 hours of fishing in, for 2 days. I didn’t dial them in, the only thing I figured out was hydrilla next to deep water. I fished a bay with beautiful hydrilla for 2 hours but no depth and I didn’t catch a fish. Spooks on rock next to really deep water was a player also. Some underwater stuff near marker 1 on the Mexican side was holding some worm fish.

Haha yep Amistad has been left out. To guide legally the National Park requires a Capt License, $500k liability insurance and 1 MILLION on your vehicle so the number of “legal” Amistad guides are limited and yes tpw lake reports are are almost embarrassing lol.. I won our one fish Thursday nt tourney tonight (6-9pm 23 boats) with a 4.98. Had several 2-3lbrs. All fish were in one small section of a mile long hydrilla area. It’s a needle in a haystack but fun when you hit it right. Almost any topwater works and flipping a 1/2oz Tx rig watermelon red craw.
