Hydrilla Overload - 05/24/18 01:45 PM

I have a tank that is about 2 acres that have been over run with hydrilla. I don't want to get rid of it all, but I need something to cull it back. Any suggestions?

Identifying what it is critical. In my experience many folks call Coontail, Elodea or Millfoil; Hydrilla. To an untrained eye it can be very hard to tell the difference. Recommendations for the BEST treatment for what you have will be different.

For every 10 ponds/lakes and ponds I see, where the landowner tells me they have hydrilla 9 of them actually have
Coontail. Very common mistake. Grass Carp love hydrilla and will tolerate coontail when most other aquatic weeds have been eaten first.

The good news is on 2 acres you can treat for just a few hundred dollars.

Check out this website and it will tell you how to identify and treatment options. Aquaplant
