Well I did my due diligence on Lewisville today. I fished area up by big sandy/shady shores boat ramp on both sides of the lake. Not very clear water and water temps around 60. Have you ever had one of those lakes that just seems to kick your tail, well Lewisville is mine I guess. Will try another part of the lake next weekend.

Re: Lake Lewisville - 10/30/17 01:08 AM

I was there today from 10a-1:30. That lake is pissing me off lately. DIlly DIlly!

Fished tower bay side, and west of 35. Fished the points, mouths of coves, all the way into the backs. Even tried the dam a bit. Nothing but dinks for us. it's been a lot of the norm lately, with the occasional bigger one lately... but nothing quite close to lake potential, not what we normally expect. Frustrating a bit, but still trying

Re: Lake Lewisville - 11/03/17 03:07 PM

The bite has been tough. I could not even get dink spots on the ramps with a shaky head which is ALWAYS a way to get bit.

Was out yesterday from 500 til dark and got one short strike and thats it. Threw square bills, spinnerbaits and a buzzbait at dusk.

Re: Lake Lewisville - 11/04/17 10:55 PM

Well I did go today spent from 7 to 2 and caught 2 small bass and 1 big sandy.
Threw spinner bait, buzz bait, square bills. 1.5 and 2.5 in sexy shad and chartreuse/back.
Threw rage craws on c-rig and T-rig. Pithed into the willows fished edges, rocks, wind and calm.
Am I missing something on this lake or is it going to be the torn in my foot forever?

Re: Lake Lewisville - 11/04/17 11:19 PM

It is a hard lake to learn. Stay with it. I zeroed several times starting out. Most of the action we saw today was around 11:30 and a spinnerbait was the top producer. I've caught them shallow and 20ft. Think of your time now eliminating water. Try new places each time.

Re: Lake Lewisville - 11/04/17 11:22 PM

Fished as well. From about 9 to 1.
3 bites, one on a deep diver... maybe 16", 12" on a fluke in about 12 ft, and then the biggest keeper of the day in about 8-10ft off a swimjig, 17".
As for techniques we tried in addition to your list... trap, whopper ploppers, frogs, swimjig. The biggest bait balls we could find seemed to be in 10-15ft.

I'm not sure what is going on on this lake. Questioning why I keep going back myself . lol

Re: Lake Lewisville - 11/05/17 01:53 AM

Fished Lewisville today. Looks like the water level has been dropping pretty quickly (usually not a great thing for fishing)

Had success with square bill and trig craw shallow. Threw Arig and spinnerbait the rest of the time without success. Buddy was fishing a smaller, lighter spinnerbait with smaller blades and did well on it shallow

Re: Lake Lewisville - 11/05/17 05:01 AM

Not just smaller and lighter but a particular retrieve.

Slow roll in 2-3 FOW, hit brush at 1.5 feet, let bait sink... BAM!!

And yea, pitching a small craw into brush was good too but subtle bites.

Re: Lake Lewisville - 11/12/17 10:14 PM

Ok I may have to do something I am NOT accustomed to doing! I may have to admit defeat on Lewisville.
Fished all day for one small sandy and a large hybrid, although they were fun just not what I was looking for.
Damn lake!!!

Re: Lake Lewisville - 11/13/17 12:26 AM

I got on the lake at 1:30, went until 330 before I quit. I could not find the big bait balls of fish anywhere but 30ft. No bites at all.

Re: Lake Lewisville - 11/13/17 12:33 AM

Have you tried the backs of major creeks when looking for shad? I know it’s a different lake but today on eagle mountain the shad were wayyyyy back there
