Has anyone caught any smallie's out of Whitney lately? I saw a guy catch one last year, but haven't seen another. Did they all get killed by the golden algae?

They stocked them in Granbury too, but we haven’t caught a single one while catching over a hundred largemouth in our 4 months of living there. Same history as Whitney so I’m sure they’re similar

Lake whitney 2017 fishing forecast
Smallmouth Bass
The smallmouth bass population in Lake Whitney continues to provide an occasional catch of a larger fish. The population received a boost in 2010 with the addition of 73,644 smallmouth bass fingerlings, and 134,722 in 2011. Two smallmouth bass were collected in our 2011 electrofishing sample but none have been found since. We think fish are still present, but at a low density.
The Brazos River below Whitney down to Lake Brazos in Waco can occasionally produce a smallmouth bass. This stretch of river was stocked with 10,248 smallmouth bass in 2008, 10,367 in 2009, and 9,985 in 2011
