What is Shimano's high speed reel?

What is Shimano's high speed reel? - 09/27/17 03:29 AM

Looking to buy some high speed reels and I've been on Shimano's for years. Was hoping to get something in the 8:1:1 zone or faster.
Thanks guys!

If you have any suggestions on other high speed other brands to check out that are similar to Curado let me know was well.

You can find Metanium 13 XG's for around $200 or a little more. They are nice.

Daiwa Tatula SV TW

Lews Super duty.

You can find both in an 8-1 gear ratio.

I have a few of the Curado 70XG's and I really like them. 8:2:1 32 inches per turn.

Bingo!

The Chronarch MgL and Metanium MgL both come in an 8.1:1 as well. I have both and they are flawless reels.

The Best, according to you, is Shimano Stella SW 5000HG. (I think)

Per Turn, 38 Inches max. with a gear Ratio: 5.7:1 max.
Line Capacity 225 yards of 30-pound braid
Max Drag 29 pounds and weight 15.3 ounces

But price is... too high.
$1,060!!!

Curado K 200XG 8.5:1 is a nice option too.

The Tatula SV TW can be set up to make a long cast without thumbing the spool and no backlash. It is amazing. I did a demo with it and a 3/8oz jig and my fishing buddies were amazed at the distance it will throw without thumbing the spool. They bought one after seeing the demo. I have 5 of them now.

It would also be a fantastic reel to teach someone how to use a bait caster without having the frustration of constant backlashes.

You wont regret it. As I mentioned earlier, I am a hard core shimano guy as well, but that Tatula fits perfectly in the extra high gear part of my arsenal. Now if Shimano came out with an 8+:1 Core I might have to get rid of my Tatula.
