Anyone have a secret on replacing skirts on the oldham's screw lock jigs, with out breaking the new skirt?

You will loose a few that get twisted into the screw; but not that bad. They go on easier than they come off.
When I would pull one off it was trash time for it anyway. I always hand tie my skirts; so it is not coming off until it is ready for a new one.

Trick to put it on:
- Put the skirt on up against the screw.
- Divide the skirt into two parts, both top and bottom from the band.
- Holding 1/2 in each hand stretching the rubber band which opens it up just enough to slide it up over the screw.

yes
use spinnerbait skirt tool, there are some that look like pliers but when squeezed the upper arms spread out, and there are some that work the same way but have three arms that spread out.

i bought mine from barlows tackle about 25 years ago.

I normally order more and retire the jig if it is in that bad of shape. I HAVE put some on, butthat can be a hassle. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
