Small jig trailer keeper add on?

Small jig trailer keeper add on? - 07/31/17 07:58 PM

Hey guys been using some compact jigs in 3/8 to 1/2 oz and more of a finesse hook(keitech casting jig). the jig is great but the trailer keeper is non existent. After two hook sets the plastic slides down. Need some suggestions for what to add on. Heat shrink tubing needs to be super tiny and hard to find but I like the wire barb keeper and thread one on.

What are your guys thoughts ?

Small dab of Super Glue gel. Been using it on the Ned rig & they won't slide down.

Just behind the skirt in that grove, you can use the long shank screw lock. Put a slight bend in the long shank so it will be at the right angle. Put the point of the hook through the screw spring, slide it up to the lead and clip the long shank into the grove behind the skirt. This works like the Odam jig that has the shank wire poured into the lead head.

look up Hitch Series Trailer Keepers - "The Trailer" Hitch at tackle warehouse site.

best jig keeper since oldham screw log.

I use a little mound of solid two part epoxy on the straight part of the hook behind the skirt keeper. Helps hold the trailer and you can change to a different type of trailer without tearing up the trailer you remove.
