Grapevine Drowning 07-11-17 - 07/12/17 03:34 AM

I just head breaking news at 10:00 that there was a drowning on Lake Grapevine this evening. Said 2 men were approaching the dock and one guy fell overboard and never surfaced. I don't know the rest of the story but most of us have done that a thousand times. Prayers up to those involved + their family and friends.

I usually feel like an idiot when I accidentally get to the truck and realize I am still wearing my life jacket. I almost always take it off just before jumping out of the boat onto the dock. I can certainly see how this could happen. Let's try not to blame this guy for not wearing his life jacket at that exact moment in time. I know there is a tendency to want to find a way to somehow say "it couldn't happen to me," but this one could have easily happened to me.

Terrible reminder of just how fleeting this life is. Prayers for the family.
