Falcon Super Duty

Falcon Super Duty - 07/03/17 08:33 PM

Anyone own one or have any reviews?

"This is the ultimate Heavy Duty Flipping rod designed to bring the giants from heavy cover into the boat. This rod is also excellent for throwing moderate sized swimbaits and larger baits in general."

Thanks flag

I'm interested. I broke my Cara Amistad ST punching slop Saturday.

I have 3 of them, and they are great. Paired with a Lews superduty and Daiwa Samurai 80lb it's a meat stick.

I have 2 of them. Best flipping stick I've ever owned. I'm sure they would excel at other big bait techniques, but I use them to flip/pitch/punch. Awesome sticks. The Amistad is another of my favorites. It's a very versatile rod, but for punching, the super duty is the one I'd go with.

I wonder if I'll get a choice when I send it back to them later this week....I love the Amistad, but I have a few of them. I'd like something with some real power for the nasty stuff I've been fishing lately.

I'm not sure if they will let you use the warranty claim for a different rod, but it couldn't hurt to ask. The Amistad is great for lighter pitching, jigs, frogs, big worms, and even big reaction baits. The super duty really has the power to handle big weights, heavy braid, and bass in the slop. That said, I've pitched beavers with 3/16 oz. weights on flouro with it. It's a great stick for any pitching or punching. The only time I use the Amistad for that anymore is if I drop down to a line smaller than 20# flouro. Hope this helps.

I love the Amistad, I have 5 of them. Looking for something a little heavier. Just in case I actually find some thick stuff to punch. thumb

Come fish with me in the morning. And bring a broom handle.

Rod length seems to be a personal preference. The Super Duty was added for those that wanted a little longer, extra heavy flipping/pitching/swimbait rod.

If you prefer a shorter rod like the Amistad, I'd look at the CC 8-172XH Cara Pro Grass.

I love the Super Duty but it is freaking heavy, the S.D. feels like it weighs twice as much as an Amistad but if you need to fight a bear, pole vault, or use it as a push pole it's the rod for you.
