Bass Pro boats horrible customer service

Bass Pro boats horrible customer service - 06/26/17 02:51 PM

Horrible customer service. My livewell pump was still under warranty so they ordered me a new one and said it would be here in a week and they would mail it to me. 2 weeks go by and no phone call, so I finally call them. They tell me they got some pumps in but they don't have the wire connectors that fit my boat so I'll just have to find a way to rig it up myself. They said they could do it if I want to leave my boat there for 3-5 weeks. It's rare to even get someone on the phone but when you do they act irritates to even be talking to you and they offer no help whatsoever. Do yourself a favor and find another boat dealer!

I've called up their parts department before and only once have I had someone give me good service. They are a last resort to call any more.

It's a poor dealer not Bass Pro. If it were me I would file a complaint up the ladder; if it gets to corporate, heads will fall. I have a boat from Bass Pro and my dealer is in Tyler, Texas. They bust their tush to provide super service.

Your right David, I don't want to condemn Bass Pro as a whole, I have just had bad experiences in general with the Grapevine location. Very helpful while shopping for the boat but as soon as my check cleared they were done with me. The guys in the fishing section at Grapevine are awesome, just the boat center that is lacking.

Speaking out of turn here really but I agree with David Allen. It sounds like a "bad apples" situation. I have never bought or serviced a boat at Bass Pro but I did buy graphs at the Shreveport location. The dude there bent over backwards to teach/help me. It was an older guy and it wasn't even "his sale". He not only gave me great tips and advice, but he gave me Lowrance names and direct numbers as well as his personal cell phone to call if I had questions. Rare breed these days for sure. Now the guys roaming around the fishing section look at me funny when I ask for 10/0 hooks or suspend-strips but thats beside the point!

I promise you if you go to customer service and ask for the store manager he will straighten this out and you WILL be taken care of. Every person I have come in contact with at the BPS in Garland has been exceptional with taking care of me and that includes the service dept. Take your problem to the top and it will get resolved and don't be bashful about using the name of whoever mistreated you.

Would rather fish from the bank than do business with Bass Pro Boats and that is no joke.

Why folks buy boats from a tackle and clothing store is beyond me. hmmm

It's a great boat, no complaints about it whatsoever, just the parts department I'm having issues with.

To be fair, BPS has one of the largest inventory of boats in the Metroplex. Fun & Sun sells tackle and clothing too.

The BPS in Grapevine just had some major "turnover" in the service department within the last few weeks-I 'm not giving it as an excuse-just saying what it is.

Well.....

So did you connect two little wires? Or are you gonna wait 5 weeks for them to connect two little wires?

Just kidding.
It does suck to get poor service, even if it is a warranty on a very inexpensive part. Did they at least look at the pump to make sure it didn't just have some shad guts or trash in it?

In the future, you should just buy a couple spare pump cartridges and have connectors on them. It usually takes less than 15 seconds to swap one out that way and could save the day.

As for BPS service? I have had nothing but outstanding service from the Garland store. From all areas I've purchased from. Sad...if their prices weren't so out of whack with reality, I'd shop there a lot.

Yea took me 5 minutes to cut the connectors off and wire a new cartridge in. Point is, they told me they would order the part that fits my boat, gave me a week time frame and never called to tell me they couldn't get it. Then they acted pissed off that I was even calling them about it. All about the principle for me.

Nothing about this thread surprises me - bad service at Grapevine and good service at Garland. I have been to both a good bit and the boat service area isn't the only department that follows that trend.
