Anybody fish spy baits

The sinking minnow baits with a propeller on the front and the back. I've never fished one but thinking of buying a couple
to see how they work.

Anybody having any luck with them, got any pointers on how to fish them? Any help appreciated before I spend my
money.

I've bought one to give it a go, the smaller Duo Realis model 80 as I recall.

It is a finesse presentation using a hard bait, really, for suspended fish at various depths. If you find bass on your electronics, say in 15' of water, you can calculate the fall rate and the time it takes to drop down that deep, cast a bit beyond your target area, then a very slow retrieval.

It's another "Japanese imported idea" from what I have read and heard where they fish in very crowded waters so they devlop a lot of finesse applications to slow down and nab fish.

I suppose it might be a good lure to toss into a boil of schooling bass, too.

I get the feeling its much better fished in clear water-maybe not so much in stained and muddy TX lakes.

I've never fished one but I have a buddy that fishes them often.

I can't wait until he breaks off the last one because I'm tired of turning around to go get those things unsnagged.

I have watched him catch 1-12" spot on one on Alan Henry though.

I usually just toss them over the side of the boat when he isn't looking and tell him it blew out of the boat. Especially since we are often fishing as a team against two other buddies.

He may have left a couple in my boat from our last Amistad trip. Let me check this weekend, and I would be glad to ship them to you free of charge.

I have two of them and never fished them. I think I paid 14 bucks a piece from TW a couple of years back.

Suspended fish are hard to catch, at least for me. I typcialy don't chase Suspended fish enough to try them.
