Does work a little. I have a "the Goat" on my trollingmotor, which made a huge difference. I also added the Kipawa prop. Together my Fortrex will chew a path threw hydrilla.

I've been sharpening and balancing my props the last few years. It makes for a really quiet motor.

Tractor supply has them for less than $5.

They work good on lawn mower blades as well! Haha

Great idea Steez, do you just glue weights on it if needed?

No, just file a little more off the EAR that is lower on the balance device. I like the Ninja prop; very sharp and it will cut.

Steez, is it a Fortrex that you have? If so, what prop are you using?

Thanks.

I use the weedless wedge 2. Current tm is an Ultrex, before that was a Maxxum and before that an Edge 70.
The process of balancing is the same for each one, even though the props were different hub diameters. The balancing cone is tapered and is adaptable to anything that can be placed onto it in a hub-centric fashion.

Like Donald Harper said.....file the heaviest side opposing the lightest side until it balances on the cone.

It will for a while until it dulls again, they make glass lined props that will stay sharp longer, and then there are metal ones for the ultimate but heard they can damage the head if the prop going full speed hits something hard.
