new format of Bassmaster elite coverage?

new format of Bassmaster elite coverage? - 06/14/17 03:04 PM

anyone like the new format - and new sidekick?

I felt like the way they have been covering the elites the last several years with Sanders/Zona was really, really good. This year's shows don't seem to me to be nearly as in depth. I like Hite and he has some good insight, but Z brought so much energy to the color commentary - i know he turns a lot of people off and he's goofy, but he just came off to me as a really big kid who never fully grew up and never lost that pure passion for the sport. I enjoyed the contrast between Sanders & Zona.

Anyways to me the show took a big step backward this year.

Agreed Ted. The new coverage sucks. I like Davy Hite, but he's too vanilla for me. Leave him as an add on. And go back to an hour per event. They are short changing the coverage trying to force everyone to the web site

That's good Mark, any idea why he has been absent?

yeah i totally agree with that, they aren't allowing enough time to tell the in-depth story they used to.

Have not seen or read anything attributed directly to him that I would feel is anything other than he has been working on some other projects and shows. He has been calling in to Live most every day it's on and appears to be no big deal. Maybe they wanted Hite to get his feet under him before they brought all 3 guys back in.

I think the new baby has something to do with it.

His wife called in and said that was just a bit he was running. No new baby.

I have been watching some old Bassmasters on youtube and they actually had alot more detail on what the guys were using and where they were fishing back then compared to today. You would think with all the new technology that would not be the case.

All the detail you could ask for are ion the live segment. The last three days of there internet coverage is unbelievable.
I watch the tv show just to have something on. But where the juice is in the internet live coverage.

I don't think it's really Davy as much as they just haven't been on lakes with good coverage so they habe to talk TOO much. There's only so much to talk about without actually watching the guys fish. I wish they would just show more fishing. I don't mind the talking but atleast show the guys fishing
