Which rods are you using for throwing chatterbaits. Looking for action, power and length. Prob 3/8 and sometimes 1/2 oz. Thanks in advance

I just bought the tat721mhrb which is a 7'2" mh regular (I have been told it's a moderate-fast). I hope to get it soon to see how it does.

I have a 7' glass rod that I had custom built for chatterbaits if you are looking for a glass rod. It's really nice too. Since I'm in a kayak I have to limit my rods and this diawa should be more versatile for me.

733 or 734 dobyns Fury. 15lb floro and a high speed reel is what I have been using I like the rod to have some tip in it with a good backbone.

My personal favorite is a 7'0 MH composite. I love them so much, I have three of the same rods. They are custom. Mostly graphite with a little glass. Awesome square bill rods too.

if you're looking for a budget option (meaning <$100) 7'0mh bucoo works very well.

My favorite is actually a budget rod.
I stroke it sideways with the tip, reel in the slack on the fall. 7.1 reel

Another vote for the Dobyns Champion 734. This is the best "all around" rod I have ever had and as a chatterbait rod it is stellar. That being said there are countless choices for a lot less money. A high quality super sensitive rod is a lot more critical for fishing soft plastics than a moving bait like a chatterbait. Any decent M-MH(depending on cover & lure weight) rod you already have and like will work fine on a chatterbait. If price is not an problem buy a bunch of the 734's for most techniques!
