I saw some grass at another lake that hasn't had any for a while when I went a couple of weeks ago. I could tell you where it was, but then I would have to kill you.

I haven't fished Fayette in many, many years. What happened to the grass? Please don't tell me they put grass carp in it.

Fayette used to be absolutely loaded with grass, they had to have killed it somehow on purpose.

Along with the majority of the reeds. I remember 10 years ago used to go flip reeds in 4-5 foot and smash big fish on tubes

As soon as they start having issues with grass in the intake, it will be gone.

Is there a place to stay around there outside the park for a small bass club, say 8 to 10 boats?

You must have never seen Fayette when it was loaded with grass. And kicking out numbers of big fish all the time.

What kind of grass are you guys seeing on Fayette? When I was there a couple of weeks ago most of what I was seeing was the spiny naiad stuff. It looks a little like hydrilla from the surface, but I reached down and pulled some of it up and it was the sprickly naiad stuff.

I remember back in the 80's when it was covered in Hydrilla.
The only grass I've seen since I've been going there this year is the stuff that gets all over everything from worms to crankbaits and looks like goopy seaweed.

Yep, I fished it in the late '80s and early '90s and there was plenty of hydrilla. Fishing was great.

i just said there was "plenty of grass". There was nothing said about "how much". For me personally, there is plenty of grass to hold fish and to fish it. I have never had an issue with catching fish on Fayette.
It is what it is, not what it was.
