I don't chime in on social media a lot, but this subject just hits me wrong. So here's my two cents like it or not.

First- Awesome choice Bass Champs for the selection of the 2015 Championship.

Second- Seems like most of the discouraging posts are not sure of what a successful tournament trail is. When each event out of 4 regions averages well above 200 teams I'd say that is success.
How hard is this to do? Look at the tournament trails that have come and gone in the past 10 years. Look at the trails lucky enough to draw 40 teams and pay $1500.00.
So what contributes to the success? Great business men that understand what we anglers need and like to make it happen. (Money)
Look at B.A.S.S. and FLW, no not team events but what makes them successfully? (Money)
What makes a high percentage of people keep competing in a great event? (Money)
When your success rate is high, yes, cities pour in the money to have you back. That's no different in B.A.S.S. or FLW.
Without the money and keeping anglers happy and by just making it bigger and better every year, Bass Champs wouldn't be where they are today and neither would we. We would still be fishing for $2500.00 if we were lucky.
These guys have to get paid somehow and it's not by taking money out of our pockets. It's by hard work from Sponsors and Cities.
Do your research on successful trails then post your negativity feed, or just man up and fish all tournaments in a region and show up to the Championship and let your fishing do the talking. Next year, of coarse.
We have a great sport and it's all over the USA not just Texas. That's why so many from other states come fish with us.

And Third- I'm so glad to say I've been able to help create the best tournament trail in the USA one entry fee at a time.
Great job Bass Champs!!
I'll continue to be a part of your success as long as you are around no matter what state, as long as it's in the USA.
Stand strong together or make the news with the other fighting idiots on TV.
Help keep our sport strong and quit your Bitching!!!!

Our sport is strong whether we have successful tournament trails or not. Bass fishing is a great sport and I enjoy just watching the sun rise and a bass hitting a top water without concerning myself about the money!

Money has everything in the world to do with it. It's what makes it all work. There is a lot of things in play with a tournament trail and its all about the money.

Back when I tournament fished I didn't do it for the money though. I wasn't on a trail which is much different from what you are talking about. I did it to compete. I felt I was good at it and I wanted to compete against others that were good at it. I got paid a few times but the competition is what drove me.

This is true, Bass Champs is a great trail and great people..example at the first LBJ tournament this year we were boat 7 and my troll motor wouldnt work..bass champs guys got on it and we were out before boat 100. I do wish they would choose a different location but you just have to fish what they choose. See you boys down there.

I don't have time to fish them anymore so my opinion really isn't worth much but I'm going to give it anyway. I see both sides. Yes, champs has to do what is most benificial to them. Can't blame them one bit. But, it would be nice to fish a different lake or river each year just to see different waters or a new place. Then you always have those that think it's an advantage to some but it is what it is. They should take a poll to see how many would\could travel to maybe Guntersville or similar.

Guntersville, too far... period, why go that far to decide a TEXAS DIVISION CHAMP...

I'd like to see what different cities offered, or didn't offer to bait them to come... I still think Travis would have been a great option with nobody fishing it this year and so central. But hey... At least they have kept it consistent.

Chad had a dream that we all shared and now we are all a part of his dream and hard work and dedication to succeed with a great tournament trail.

Money is a big part of it, but the behind the scene guys do a heck of a lot to make this right for all us who enjoy fishing tournaments. The way Bass Champs take care of the fish is a big plus also. You have to take care of your resources.

Other trails try but some are not very good at it yet.IMO.

Bass Champs has always gone the extra mile for the anglers.Great Trail from top to bottom. Thanks to all the guys/gals who Run Bass Champs ! Cant say enough.

Last year was our first year to fish Champs. We had never been to the Red River, and we did absolutely NO good in the tournament (ZEROED after winning AOY). That being said we (including wives) enjoyed the heck out of the experience. We look forward to it again, and will make it our goal to learn the river and do better. Shreveport/Bossier City offers so much more in addition to the fishing such as casinos, boardwalk shopping center, seafood restaurants that our whole family can enjoy. I know for us we are going down there for the experience just as much or more than we are worrying about the "money" of the event. Every employee of Bass Champs from top to bottom put on a 1st class tournament and atmosphere last year.

Same here..... The family is all coming down! Great Venue and the people in Shreveport/Bossier City really do a great job! Now lets hope the river settles down!

Bass Champs just needs to keep doing what they're doing. People will complain no matter where they hold the championship. That is a fact.
