What Is Your Favorite Lake?

What is your favorite lake in Texas and why?
Mine is Athens because the Grass.

It used to be Houston County when it had hydrilla, but now it would have to be Fayette County.

On a day like today...whatever lake I am on.


Used to be Amistad then the fishing went down hill but right now I am leaning towards my secret lake that I don't want anyone to know about.

Toledo Bend because you can catch bass in any way you want. It has something for everyone.

Toledo Bend . Every arm is somewhat different and like its own lake .

I change some, but I would have to say Pines is my favorite even though I don't get to fish it much. Athens is also right up there for me.

Hard to pick, but top 3 would be Athens, Cypress Springs, and Fork. LOP is up there too. All beautiful lakes that can fish great.

Used to be Lake Austin when it had grass, now Fayette, going to try and make my new favorite LBJ on May 1-3.

Lake X

Texoma just because it is don't know really why

Alvarado because of the bass and friendly stray dogs.

Hubbard Creek always will be water or not.

Ray Roberts is my favorite!! Next would be Fork

Even though the fishing may not be what it was at one time I still love Amistad. You can just feel the peace seeping into you while sitting out there.

The scenery is tough to beat, and not just the lake itself... we always see bald eagles, gators, deer, and the occasional hog. Did I mention PHENOMENAL bass fishing?

Any lake TPWD has not ruined with grass carp

Still partial to Livingston. Just been good to me in the past.

That's hilarious! It's been a while but this little guy always greeted me at Alvarado.

Athens!!! 15 mins from the house and my top 5 PB's is from that lake

I would have to say Pines and Rayburn. I cant really say I like one over the other. I think each is better then the other certain times of the year

Ivie. 2 reasons, its the closest lake for me to have a real chance at a DD, and the bass in my sig pic..

Falcon because of the memories and the anticipation of that one bite

thats funny you mention that, i have never had a MEAN stray dog out there... Seen probably 10 different ones over the years and all would either say abotu 20 feet away and just wag their tail or come up and exspect a belly rub. Big mean looking pit was out there forever and he just wanted some love...

that said my favorite is Lake Cherokee... lots of reasons, but main 2 are, lake house with a dock and lift make it EASY, and BIG fish are there... that king size bed in the lake house is nice 2...

That lake is burned out by too many Carp. No grass.

O.H. Ivie or benbrook for me. Caught some Giants out of both. Tied my personal best twice on ivie and caught the original one on benbrook

Those two are my favorites although I did have a fantastic three day trip to Falcon a couple of years ago, both numbers and size.

Use to be Dunlap. Canyon is fun and LBJ still has some big fish.

Toledo Bend, been fishing that lake since 1978, it's better today than it's ever been.

Falcon, it has it all....heaven on earth, fisherman's paradise!

Texoma...but I also hate it.

Largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, striped bass, sand bass, catfish and crappie. Never know what is on the line.

Amistad, will always be my #1 favorite. But up north Texoma and Ray Roberts are my favorites.
