Texas bass conservation license plates

Texas bass conservation license plates - 02/25/15 11:01 PM

Does anyone have one these specialized license plates?
Looks like TP&W wants the public to help pick the new bass design
for the license plates. Click on the link to take the survey for the new redesign.

Does the proceeds for these plates go to SAL or just the general TP&W operating funds just like the hunting/fishing licenses do?

I already have a Texas bass license plate; for about 10 years now. Guess what it is?

22 of the 30 dollar cost goes directly to support our fisheries programs in Texas. Please take the survey and tell us which one you like best. Thanks for the support.

I had those plates for several years until, they took the money and put the money in the general fund. When I found that out I let them have the plates back.

They both look better than ours in Fl... Something about ours just always looked... off to me. Hard to describe I guess.

That was my fear, just like the stamps and special endorsements
They funnel it away into the general fund instead of letting it go towards the areas they tell you it goes too

I like both... Very likely to order on both designs. Voted B

Like B better. Have the current design. Annual up charge for the plate.

I purchased these and continue to keep them. I have transferred them to two more vehicles. What I understand is the money was suppose to help fund a depleted TPWD. However, under Perry's leadership much of this money was funneled into the General Budget. This is also what happened to the extra $5 they added to fishing licenses a few years ago to upgrade our Fish Hatchery System. However, once again this money was funneled into the General Budget.
