Love ,Hate relationship with Fork - 02/13/15 01:00 AM

Arrived Sunday about 11:00,caught 4 and lost two more good aggressive slot fish. Monday did not get a bite all day ,partner caught 2. Tuesday caught two, partner 0. Hate this lake. Wednesday fished 1/2 day caught two. First was a 7.92 fatty on a chatterbait on a main lake point LOVE this lake!! Reminded me why I fish Lake Fork.

Good job. I've named the tree stumps in my fishing area. Caught two around "Albert" and one at "Daphne".

Is LaRon short for Louisiana Ron?

Mother Fork. She conjures up love and hatred in my mind. Simultaneously!

Can't recall fishing any public water in Texas like it. If you're not waking them up and putting them to bed 5 days/wk, every trip is a crapshoot.

The majority of those forays will leave you dejected. But, just like the photo above, a crummy trip can turn into one of a lifetime in less than a second.

Thx for sharing ur story and photo. And CONGRATULATIONS!

CONGRATULATIONS LaRon!

Fork can love on you or backhand slap you. Either way you gotta love watching the sun rise and set on her knowing the next cast could be.......

LaRon, you need to white out the back ground. Now everybody will be fishing that spot! It is so obvious what cove that is. Nice Fish!

IT is Louisiana Ron. The morning I caught this fish the sunrise was beautiful. I told my partner even tho the fish weren't biting I would rather see the sunrise in front of the boat than in my rear view mirror going to work. Counting the days till I get back!

One bad day of fishing is better than a day at work anytime!
Least you caught a baby donkey lol!
And whole lot better than the time you came to fork and went biteless 4 straight days!

Re: Love ,Hate relationship with Fork - 02/13/15 07:45 PM

How you know Fork is special:

Spend 6 biteless hours on Lewisville and you
are ready for a nap in anticipation of the
15oz'er you might catch in the next second.

Spend 6 biteless hours on Fork and the next
cast you are still wound up like
Jason Voorhies (shout out on Friday 13th)
is right around the corner!

THAT is why my boat is now stored at Fork!
