Biggest I've thrown is the osprey talon. That's the coolest bite I've had. She chased it right up to the boat, reminded me of the 1st sighting of Jaws. Were gonna need a bigger boat!!!!

Re: Swimbaits - 04/23/14 04:22 AM

I am currently out in arizona but plan moving to texas in the next few months. I have been using large swimbaits for the past 8months and caught 2 10lbers, 3 9lbers, several 7-8lbers....its addicting seeing a fish take such a giant bait. I will definately be incorporating them into my fishing in texas knowing how many big bass are out there.

Totally agree with this and to a large degree I attribute the increased interest to angler acceptance of the logic that swimbaits in general mimic what bass co-habit with daily.

I would start with the Money, or the Fringe. It's addictive though.

Who makes the little white bass type pattern?

Re: Swimbaits - 04/24/14 08:06 PM

If you fish lakes with a lot of cover I recommend using the 5 inch Big Bite Cane Thumper or the Gambler Big EZ. I have been on a tear with these two baits this spring. I use the 5/0 Big Bite EWG belly hook. I rig it weedless and throw it on the muck. Play with the retrieve until you see how they want it..you will know it when they hit it. Addictive isn't the word.

The first six on top are Huddleston 68 specials
Then two 3:16 6" Freestyle Shad
Then a 3:16 Baby Wake 6" in Bass
Then A Custom FX, 3:16 Wake Junior 7.5", knock off that I prolly shouldn't mention. It's still available on BTD.
Then a custom requested Lucky Lures UK, 6" Barfish. He can make them for anyone.
In the second box
First two are 8" Huddleston Deluxe original trout. One is rigged with a stinger on top.
Then a 3:16 Wake Junior 7.5" in Bass
Then a 3:16 8" Freestyle Shad, in Trout.

I'm gonna paint the trout patterns, to look more like bass, when I feel creative enough.

Is it possible to figure out what color this is and when you can have them orderable? I would really like to get me some of those ASAP, they are sweet!

Re: Swimbaits - 04/24/14 08:59 PM

I like the Lake Fork Boot Tail Swim Baits, I prefer rigging them weedless and fishing in grass when I can find some.
