I have not been to Alan Henry in about 10 years. Moved to DFW and now back in West Texas. Will it be crowded there this Friday ...March 21 ??

The days of this lake being crowded for fishermen are long gone due to the lack of fish catching so until the water warms and all of those dadgum wakeboard boats get out there you should be good. Good luck to you and let me know how you do cause the bite has been pretty tough there from what I here and my past couple of trips.

I guess I am wondering if the ramp will be crowded with boats coming and going...It is spring break but cool still.......

It shouldn't be any crowd whatsoever. 2 Saturdays ago the water temp was 47 degrees at midday in the middle of the lake. Unless they have wetsuits, they would be crazy to be out there trying to wakeboard or ski or anything else that involves jumping in the water. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck. OH, I did talk to a guy fishing Green Pastures and he said he caught 2 fish early in the AM on deep diving CBs in clear, deep water.

Quite a few boats on the water last Saturday. Saw a guy catch a 5-6lb bass on top water and I caught a 4.98lb bass 4ft deep during the light rain. It is getting better. Need Rain!

Wouldn't doubt it. I caught a 22 pound bag on Henry in a club tournament on a buzzbait in 51 degree water. That was about 3 years ago but it's doable.

Maybe you're no good at fishing topwater in the cold? One of my best pond tricks is fishing a very small topwater very slow when the water is cold. I've caught 100s of fish doing it.

Not surprising at all to me. Bass were chasing shad everywhere. You can bet I will have a top water tied on the next time I go out. PS. they would`nt hit a jerkbait, crankbait, spinnerbait or wacky worm.

If they are still chasing shad a spoon might not be a bad idea either. Topwater and spoons usually have worked well for me. That lake seems to fish so differently than other lakes ive fished.

I heard one of the guides like to use some spoon concoction and does well with it. I've never fished spoon. Living in Lubbock though I might need to figure out how!

Few years back we started our morning in Little Grape. Water temp was 47, and the fish were schooling on top in 10-14' of water. sacked 4 with 2 overs on a zara puppy. caught our first 10 that way before it quit. Experience has taught me NEVER to count anything out. All I can say is the less open minded you are the more you'll miss out on...
