Re: favorite plastic to put on vibrating jig? - 03/07/14 01:20 PM

Depends on water conditions. Tend to use a fluke, a 4-5" paddle tail swimbait (lots of brands) or an ultra vibe speed craw in dirtier water - love a black and blue vibe jig with a sapphire blue speed craw.

Good luck.

Once it starts to get tore up, you can rotate it and get more use out of it too.

You guys that use the LFT shad should give the slug a try, seriously. It's works just as well as a trailer but you get 2x the usage out of it. Put a little kickin bass on it and it's hard to beat.

I've had good luck with the Havoc Subwoofer. I thinks it's discontinued now because Academy has been blowing them out for 99 cents. I buy all I can at that price.

If you don't already.. Take the time to put a dab of super glue on your chatterbait before you slide the plastic on and the trailers will last even longer. I've got jigs that have 15-20 fish under their belt and the trailer hasn't moved... Just a money saving tip. You're right though the slug and LFT and some other brands are legit. cheers

LFT Magic Shad is what I've used for years. Lately I started using a Double ZZ Split Ring and it has been amazing as a trailer.

Me too. No telling how many more fish I would have caught if I spent more money on the trailer.
