Jigging a Little George(tail spinner) I caught a freshwater muscle. The weird part was the entire treble hook was inside the shell. (plus a couple snakes, several bull frogs and a duck).

Throwing a DD22 I snagged a heavy tarp that looked like a cigar with duck tape holding it together. Didn't ask questions, I just cut the lure and down she sank..........just kidding!!!! I always tell myself when I'm snagged on something and it starts to come up slowly, I hope it's not a dead body!! On a serious note, I caught a pelican once fishing for barricuda in California. The boat hand just grabbed him by bill and pulled the hook out. It was pretty crazy!

I caught a wallet on a crank bait on Pat Mayse lake in a cove. It had money, ID, etc in it. Turned it in to the Paris PD so they could get it back to the owner. Went back and fished that same area the next week and caught a jacket in the same spot. Quit fishing there, was afraid of what I might drag in next!,

I caught a bat fly fishing at night but in I'm Oklahoma. Size 10 black cone head marabou muddler. I was just starting to bring my back cast forward with about 40 ft of line out, when it snagged on something and my line fell to the water. I figured I had snagged a tree limb or something. I felt something on the line as I stripped my bait in closer but I figured a leaf or something. I got it in close, flipped on the light and "oh shet, look at this". Luckily my buddy had some forceps and shook the hook free. The bat just fell in the water and began floating off down river. I don't know if he made it or not.
By far, my wildest catch.

Nothing too weird for me so far -- but just this past weekend out on Lake Travis I snared some cut fishing line, and when I pulled it up there was a crankbait attached. This happened TWICE on the same day...about an hour apart.

Re: Weirdest Thing You've Ever Reeled In? - 12/20/13 02:16 PM
Weirdest thing I ever caught was a 12' long 2x6 on lake Travis. It was water logged and I snagged a small cut near the middle of the board. One end was cut at an angle and it was slightly bowed the opposite way. The short of it was it swam circles around the boat while wobbling so it felt like a fish swimming. It took over 30 minutes to get it to the boat. The whole time we though it was a huge catfish.
I also caught 6 crank baits fishing on Falcon one trip. They were all in good shape. I gave them to my buddy and he's been catching fish with them ever sense.

I have not been bass fishing very long, started last May and of course I became hooked. One morning I was using a yellow magic popper and on a pause it went under like a bobber. Reeled it in and I had a small bluegill hooked on it. That's not the weird part though. He had the bottom treble hook all the way in his mouth somehow. Their mouths are tiny I have no idea how he managed that. I also hooked a catfish on a drop shot worm once. I have heard of people catching cats on bass lures before but I had never done it till then.

I've caught a freshwater mussel on Lake Wood, a turtle on the Guadalupe, a seagull in Matagorda and a silicone slip-in breast size enhancer for bathing suits on Lake Dunlap. It had barely any algae on it, had to be a fresh loss...
I still have it if it belongs to your wife, pm me... just kidding.

Sorry Jersey Dan I ain't no fool but I got you covered . . or maybe what you caught covered my catch.
I was fishing from my float tube in a lake in California when I hooked something that felt like a tree limb and when i got it to the surface I started laughing so hard bout peed myself!
It was 16" x3 " (guessing here) rubber penis complete with a testicles!(only in California)
If felt like wood reeling it in and low and behold it was. Har!
Since I practice catch and release it was a no brainer . . . I couldn't get it unhooked from my jig fast enough
I'm pretty sure it was the largest rubber penis ever caught but this isn't something you want to have mounted . . .lol
I know y'all are thinking I'm joking but its the Gods truth

Oh yeah, I also caught a lawn chair while trolling one time, it got away though, as I was pulling it in it spit the hook. My fishing bud caught a motorcycle frame in a cast net, that count.
At Hubbard I could see something moving across the water like an alligator. It was a cow and all that was above water was his nose. It started following me so
i led it to the bank about 100 yards where it walked out. It was Feb, and the water was cold. Possible I saved it.

I was bank fishing on Lake Lewisville casting a baby brush hog and got a hit. After setting the hook, it didn't act like a bass or any other kind of fish I had caught before. It fought pretty good and when I got it to the surface, it was a 4 ft. water moccasin. It had the bait halfway down its throat. Needless to say, I cut bait and the snake head.

After spudding a hole through the ice on Houghton Lake in Michigan I started jigging for Walleye. Thought I had hooked a good one and pulled up my ice skimmer that had fallen into my fishing hole the Winter before. Knew it was mine because I had built it in shop class with a stainless steel scoop. Guess I had a pretty good line up on the shoreline for my favorite spot.
