Medina - 08/16/13 03:25 AM

Went to Medina 8-13. The fish are pretty hungry in the AM and just before dark. Tie your favorite bait on and cast it in the water and you will catch them... Heres a video from that morning.

ps: Might need a 4X4 when pulling your boat out from Reds.

Great video!! I fish Medina a lot being it is close to me. It can be such a fun lake. It is sad seeing it so low these last couple of years. Great advice on 4x4 to pull out of Reds.

Live 15 minutes from Red's. Just waiting to get a new truck with 4X4 then I can fish Medina again.
It needs to catch some water bad. Sad to see it so low.

Heres some of the bigger fish we caught out there over the last year. I guess the lack of water and pressure is making the bigger ones easier to find but there is def some good ones still there.

Those are some great bass. Brings back memories. I sure hope the rains will come. As long as the oxygen holds out I should think the hawgs will be ok and may actually have more to eat than ever due to the closer proximity of bait fish. On the other hand, they may be stressed out.

Re: Medina - 08/30/13 04:39 PM

When I was in the USAF and stationed in San Antonio back in the 80s I fished Medina a whole lot. We had to deal with it being very low back then but in the spring of 87 had all the heavy rains that filled her back up. That spring was some of the best bass fishing I've had anywhere I ever fished and we are talking some real hogs come out of that lake then. One of these days I'm going to make the trip from Houston to fish there again.

Gonna try to remove some whites and hybrids out sometime over the weekend. Help the blacks out. That was a cool video. Thanks for sharing. People that catch out there are very tight lipped. Also catching some 30-40lb catfish on rod and reel drifting cut perch and whole shad . No ones talking. Just ramp talk though.
