Another lake fork thief incident - 04/29/13 04:28 AM

Ok I guess it was my families turn to have their lake house broken in to...I was there a week ago this past Friday and saturday with family... Well the Sunday around 8 is when they struck...it seems like I remember ready another thread on here about thieves that at food at the house the stole things from...well this was them...first of when my cousin and myself pulled up to the lake house we noticed right away the garage door was open...thank goodness I still see my boat sitting in there along with my golf cart and my dad zero turn john Deere mower, but my dad Kawasaki mule is gone...then I look over at the house to see my parents window to their bedroom broken...called sheriff and he said so hold on tight and not touch anything because 2 other places that week had their house broken into as we'll...so he came by and we proceeded into the house and right away I noticed a box of corn dogs and a TV dinner were out on the counter and the microwave door was still open...the db pissed in the half bath without a flush...all TVs were still there but dads clothes, couple drill sets and boots are gone...he left his jeans which were stolen from another house along with a pair of bowinkle house shoes in my parents bedroom...he also stole a .22 from dads room...but that's it...witnesses reported seeing him driving our mule in the property of the other house he robbed in same night...so u lake fork regulars be looking please for a 2011 Kawasaki camo mule...when the sheriff came he took a few items that had prints all over them for evidence...shortly after he left he calls me back and said they already had a name on the suspect...the next day the a-hole was arrested in grand saline...I still thank The Lord he didn't take anymore than what he did, especially my new bass rig which sat from Sunday to Friday with garage open all week from the dumb idiot...reason why he was caught so fast is they found his cell phone in the other house he robbed!!!!!

You guys know he'll be out in a few weeks, if not days. I would keep my trigger finger strong.

Re: Another lake fork thief incident - 04/29/13 11:05 AM

suggestion for locking up stuff like the mule and boat.

go get one of these for every vehicle (lowes) and drill a hole in the concrete that is oversized ie a 3/4" shank needs a 1" hole min.
buy some sulphur at a pharmacy or farm supply, get a metal pan or something to melt the sulphur in (it will be useless for anything else afterward), drill the concrete and clean the hole well (air blower), melt the sulphur and pour in the hole to about 2/3 full, insert eye bolt and let set for about 3 hrs to cool.

when melted sulphur is used to mount a bolt in concrete it will not come out, you can chain the vehicle/boat to the eye bolt with heavy chain and feel pretty sure no one will steal it.

this has worked for me in the past to lock up all kinds of things when I used to be gone for weeks at a time.

So did they recover the stuff the a-hole stole? I sure am lucky that we have full time neighbors that keep an eye on our place at Rayburn.

that is how I used to mount framework to build wooden boats, you have to work really hard to get a bolt out when done right.

we have not found any of our stuff yet...but we did find a $8k ring he stole from the house up the road...i guess it fell out of his his pocket...we still believe his girlfriend was involved as well...i also believe that he ditched the mule somewhere around yantis...he doesnt have the key and the mule was hot wired...i think it was his way of going back and forth from the ladies house up the road to ours

u got it fouz...during these type of situations the part that bothers me is the violation that you feel...material things can be replaced...but i feel for my father who is a honest hard worker that had his brand new mule snatched by some POS along with a few other things that he worked hard to buy...its a tough feeling but i wont let the douche ruin our lives

Re: Another lake fork thief incident - 04/29/13 07:12 PM

Sounds like the same guy that hit my Uncle's place in Birch. PM me his name and I'll see if it's the same POS. My Uncle's place is in Birch also. I had posted about him eating food and helping himself to drinks, they did recover his 4 wheeler in a creek bed outside Grand Saline. The only stuff he took, was what he could fit in the basket racks on the 4 wheeler.

Re: Another lake fork thief incident - 04/29/13 08:04 PM

Sorry to hear about it. I'm very glad he was caught. I keep hearing about thieves and burglars running rampant with no one getting arrested. I just hope they give him enough time to make him think a little. You can't change stupid, and it seems you can;t reform these people with no values or morals. I think we would do better to hand these people over the their victims, but that's never gonna happen.

Re: Another lake fork thief incident - 04/29/13 10:53 PM

I'm sorry for your loss and I know this may a little to late...But I like the idea of several strategically placed no flash trail camera placed around entry and exit spots on vacation type properties...We have used them on deer leases, lucky for us we never had a problem, but they can sure eliminate any doubt and tell you who is coming and going on property you only visit every now and then...Just a thought for the future.

If you ever catch the POS I will help ya launch the boat if you wanna take him out for a swimming lesson in concrete tennis shoes... wink
