Snell Knot for Fluorocarbon

Snell Knot for Fluorocarbon - 03/12/12 09:52 PM

I'm interested to see if anyone uses a snell knot with fluoro for flipping soft plastics. If so, which style of snell knot?

From what I've read it keeps your weight centered more and improves hook sets but I'm concerned about the line free floating through the eye and fraying.

I use the LFT knot. Mark Pack has a great instructional video on YouTube on how to tie it.

The snell knot is nice because it the main line comes out the same way as the hook point, it acts sorts as a holder for it so it wont slip down the shaft

I use the Uni-knot to snell a hook with any line type.

I've read the San Diego Jam Knot is best for flouro.

I read somewhere that it reduces the strenthg by 75%. I personally have never done any tests on knot strength though
