Spawn on Falcon...

When does spawn kick in to high gear on Falcon? I'm planning a trip and want to hit Falcon in primetime! Thanks guys I'm excited about this trip!

It's a long lake. High gear probably starts upriver around New Years and works it's way south for a few of months.

I,ve heard that Jan & Feb. is full blown on spawn.

I will be there next week, I hear it is on fire right now!

Jigs, Jigs, and More Jigs. I will get down there and it will be drop shots in 60' of water though!

All depends on what "winter" is like down there, but early February is usually hard core.

We were catching fish prespawn last year at the South end the third week in Dec.

You getting used to catching a stringer of baitfish on Grapevine yet?

Nope. I can take my 5 biggest swimbaits, and put together more weight than my best 5 out of The Vine. I sure do miss fishing Falcon every weekend.

LOL! It's gotta be tough. You need to play around on Texoma some. The bass won't be as large as Falcon but the variety can be pretty good.

I agree with RT Feb is a sure bet for the main event

I am coming in Feb to fish with TFF John Voght.....I have never caught one over 10.lbs

You got a good shot at one but don't get your hopes up too high -- they're not as common as some people think even on a lake like Falcon.
