Curious on where to park once all ramp spaces are full?
My boat is at Fork, but my backup is here at the house, but damn registration is expired. I'd take the backup but don't want to chance on not being allowed on the lake due to expiration. Need to figure something out quick.

word of advice, DO NOT USE FM 100.

897 to the bridge ramp or on up to the other one, between the mud and gravel I would not pull a boat on fm 100 between fm82 and fm273.

I drove there yesterday to see it with my own eyes and time it from my front door. I can be at the ramp on 897 in 34 minutes!

I didn't realize it was opening "today." After I saw a text and this, I pulled up the website. I am surprised all three ramps are open. But, it's been a month or more since I made the drive around up there.

You can likely just go to the shoreline with a spinner bait and catch fish.

New lakes are so easy, look at all the hacks that caught big fish at Fork back in the day

Hop, the biggest that lake can grow is 5lbs…post spawn and starving.
I heard it’s already eaten up with white bass and stripers.

My Navionics card was mapped with the lake probably 10 feet low. It showed me mostly on land.

"This reservoir is currently managed with a 16-inch maximum length limit for Largemouth Bass. All other species are managed with statewide regulations"

Black bass
For largemouth bass, only those 16 inches in length or less may be retained. Bass 24 inches or greater in length may be temporarily retained in a live well or other aerated holding device and immediately weighed using personal scales. Bass weighing 13 pounds or more may be donated to the ShareLunker Program; otherwise, the fish must be immediately released in the lake where caught. Anglers wishing to donate their bass must immediately cease fishing and contact TPWD at (903) 681-0550. Anglers may not remove the bass from the immediate vicinity of the reservoir unless instructed to do so by TPWD staff. Bass not accepted by TPWD must be immediately released. For smallmouth bass (if present), minimum length is 14 inches. No minimum length limit for Alabama, Guadalupe, and spotted bass (if present). Daily bag limit for all black bass species is 5 in any combination.

No photos of anyone with a single fish on that lake today. If you are wondering the caliber of fisherman that post on this forum, it should be abundantly clear. Fish never even seen a lure and can’t get a bite or never been fishing and just it at the computer.

It was not bad at 11:30 . Drove right to the ramp and was only 19 boats in the parking lot at the south ramp on 897

Some of the lake is so thick with black locust trees it will not be fish able for a couple of years .

So when and how was this announcement it was open.

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the ramp situation for the next few weeks

owners bought a water moccasin from a member here, I have permission to use it. couple of weeks and I want to hit the trees west of the bridge, before any wasps find out.

sounds like 60-80 fish today up to 7 pounds was about the norm. no giants posted yet

On the Bois D Arc Facebook page I saw a guy with a 6.72 and a 5 something.

A lot of those trees are solid black locust trees . Thorns are two inches long and there are every three inches .
You will die a slow miserable death if you get in them !

Did they stock striper? Otherwise it's probably impossible

I was planning on going this morning, but my wife is home sick and isn't feeling to well. With everything else I've got on my schedule, probably mid-week next week.

Y’all boys up there get a brand new lake to fish 30 mins from your door. Us poor Houston boys have a mud hole to fish, and at least 2hr drive to get to a decent lake.

We caught bout 20 or so today

5 lbs biggest

We went today caught 31 fish. 25-4 for biggest 5. Big bas was 7-7. All prespawn except one post. Hardest fighting fish I have caught in years. Lake reminds me of Roberts when it opened.

I fished Sandlin, Fork,Richland Chambers,Cooper and Gilmer when they 1st opened. Make sure yall watch out 4 red wasps!. Ha. I'll probably set this one out. Although I may make a summer trip. Fishing 4 schoolers on a new lake can be epic.

They are suppose to be opening a lake on the Brazos but Houston is so worthless and ran so terribly they've got the land but argue with the state on how to build it in something. Someone could nuke houston and I wouldn't care
