What line are you flipping with?

Brand, type, # test. I need to make a change and not sure which way to go. In my case I would mostly be flipping docks and trees not so much grass.

Thanks for any input.

I was a big fan of asinine Super Flourocarbon as it was great for its price. I used it a long time without a single issue. They discontinued it recently so I switched to Sunline Sniper. It's great as well. Usually 16-20lb.

I use 40 - 50 lb Diawa Samauri with a 15 - 20 lb seagar leader, the braid can be a big pain in the rear but I like the sensitivity and not have to spool my reels for 2-3 years at a time.

Your choice of fluorocarbon in 16-20 lb test. I personally use Sunline Sniper. It's the best bang for your buck fluoro in my opinion. I buy the 1,200 yard spools. It's much cheaper in the long run.

I fish docks with 12-15 fluorocarbon. Trees with 17-20 fluorocarbon. Heavy brush 65lb power pro.

I concede that I am gonna retie a lot. I also know I’m gonna lose a few hooks/weights. I lose very few fish and I also believe that I get more bites using a smaller pound test line, so I take advantage of those odds.

Re: What line are you flipping with? - 11/19/22 07:42 PM

Depends on the bait and cover
20 big game
20 trilene 100%
65 braid no leader

Re: What line are you flipping with? - 11/20/22 12:53 AM

Diawa J braid 8/ 40lb with a fluorocarbon leader. 20 lb Seagar. Invizx. Alberto knot. Normally flipping the trees and buck brush in Rayburn on the north end. I find straight 20 lb fluorocarbon to have too much spool memory for me. I like the leader option.
