Squaw report

Squaw report - 10/16/22 11:24 PM

I haven’t seen any reports from squaw in the last few days. I canceled my reservation for today, I didn’t want to fight the weather. Did I miss out today? I have another reservation for next Sunday. I hope it’s not fished out by then. eek

Yep. Rained from 7-830'ish. Not many boats, I looked around and then ended up going back to the fish we found on the 6th. Caught 20 from 11am-315pm in the same spot. Time goes by so fast.

I didn't go up the river, but several did. Was a real nice day, and the boat really needed a rinse.

I went today.

It was really good. Ran out of trick worms…went through 60. Caught fish all day. Biggest was only 5 pounds. Around 40 3+ pounders. Like was said…light rain for an hour then really nice. I stayed along the northern main lake in 10-15 ft. Most fish came from 8-12 ft, with a few shallower. I didn’t go back into coves, as I was trying to have one of those “150 fish days”. Probably closer to half that. Maybe 80. I tried high percentage stuff and it worked all day. Boater last 5 or 6 fish around 2:45-3:00.

I was one of 7 boats that turned in the survey. It was fun keeping track of catches on a piece of paper. Didn’t see a warden, so the knee jerk policing didn’t happen that everyone was afraid would happen.

My son and I took a 9 year old today. Between the three of us we boated over 60 bass,14 cats, and 5 massive tilipia. They were on a complete 180 pattern from how I’ve been catching em. Fished from 8:30 -2:30.
