Dead Bass on LOP

Dead Bass on LOP - 07/11/22 04:20 PM

Took the family out for a boat ride on LOP yesterday. There were 3 5-7lb bass dead at the Alley Creek boat launch. Just wanted to remind everyone about fish care, and if a fish isn't going to make it at least put her on ice and get some use out of her.

Hopefully it wasn't due to heat exhaustion.

Just get VT-2 livewell vents, or any vents and no worries. No more dead fish. It’s that simple.

Water is way to hot to be hauling bass around in live wells and expect them to be just fine.

CPR unless you plan on keeping fish for dinner.... water temps are just way to high right now with this heat wave.

Probably not even a tournament. Maybe they just needed someone to take a single picture of the “3 5-7lbs bass” they caught throughout the hot day! One picture of several big bass always looks more impressive than several pictures of single big bass. Plus one picture uses up less of your phones memory! 🤔🤷‍♂️😜

Maybe they sprayed out there like they did on Welsh. Frank, can you check on that for us? You said Welsh was sprayed for sure, so can you check your resources and find out if LOP was sprayed also?

Yeah definitely not a tournament, was there the day before and day of. I feel like it was either that or they didnt have scales in their boat and wanted to way them before releasing them.

I think there is a Saturday night tournament out of Alley every week.

No dead fish in your boat while it's at your dealer getting fixed.... bolt

There's a guy in a red boat I see out there, maybe a champion, that makes a movie about every fish he catches out there. 2.5 pounder is out of the water for at least 25 minutes while he gets 15 snaps in all different light and angles. No telling how long it would be out of the water if he ever caught a 7+

That won't help when they spray the grass.
