In my limited experience on Ray Roberts, I’ve noticed it’s usually right around Cinco de Mayo.

Have not seen it on Conroe yet but it's been a week since I've been on the water.

Saw a massive school today in the middle of Kurth. Tried a lipless among them with no luck.

Its a bit early, but with warm nights this week and a strong south wind, it should fire them up. We need 65+ nights and 75+ days to fire them up. They generally come in Heavy first week of May and go into early June or until we have 4 or 5 days of 92 degree days in a row.

Threadfin shad have started on Palestine and on Cedar Creek. I don't think the gizzard shad spawn is on yet though. When you get a cold night it might slow things down for a few days. It's not in full swing yet though. With the forecast temps this week it will be on big time by the end of the week.

I'm thinking the same for here (Belton/Stillhouse) too. Hadn't been able to get out lately due to wind.

I've seen them active but haven't seen or caught any bass munching on them.
