Hey Brandon, my brother and I are about to do the same thing.

Do you mind telling me how many you started with and how big your tank is?

Our lake is 15-16 acres when full with max depth of 40ft at the dam. We let the bait fish get established for three yrs then we stocked 1000 Camelots.

That’s a heck of a tank/lake! Do you guys have to stock with bluegills every year or do they reproduce fast enough on their own?

So far we haven't had to stock any additional bluegill. We do remove approx 300-400 bass per yr

Good plan. What we do is those little dinks we snip a gill and then release them. The idea being they are quite likely to get chomped up by a big bass. Even a 10 inch bass takes a lot of food to grow... might as well keep that chow in the food chain for your big guys.

Or turtles... whatever finds them first.

I know it’s a lot of work, but that would be amazing to have a private lake.
