Story of 9.5 pound Lake Travis bass caught this weekend! - 03/14/22 12:47 AM
Spring is here, and along with it the chance to catch a big girl!! Took the day off work on March 9th to fish. Started mid-lake (around Spicewood/Lago Bar K park area). Slow at first, caught a 2lb male on a crankbait off a secondary point in a cove, and a few catfish on jug lines for the fryer this weekend. The big girl bit on an Alabama rig on 15 lb flourocarbon line in the middle of a cove uplake. This cove had an old boat ramp, underwater brush and a boat dock nearby. Slow rolling the A-rig got a bite. Immediately she wrapped around a bush underwater, so I didn't know how big she really was. I trolling motored over the fish and saw how big she was and got excited. She was REALLY wrapped good, and even letting the line go slack couldn't get her unwrapped. The water was too deep to reach her with my arm, so I had to resort to trying to snag the A-rig in her mouth with another lure. The first try the other lure got stuck in the tree and broke off... the 2nd try I snagged her but she got off. Finally I was able to snag the A-rig, bring her close to the surface and grabbed her. I was so excited I was breathing hard and had to call someone to show them this fish! Let her go alive as you will see in the video. SPRING IS HERE!!! Let's go fishing!
