Lowrance Carbon and active target - 11/21/21 06:37 PM

How is the carbon working out with the new active target forward sonar?

You will have to update the unit to have all the active target features but it’s pretty straightforward. Mine are working fine but just really haven’t gotten scout mode dialed in yet. Down and forward work just as advertised.

I have a livescope and the perspective mode (same as scout) is close to worthless. I’ve tried it down at Choke quite a bit and it’ll show fish swimming, but seeing brush is not happening. Might be good during the spawn maybe.

I posted on BBC the other day that scout mode reminds me of trying to spot a boob on one of the blocked fuzzy cable channels when you were a kid. Just when you think you see what your looking for it disappears.

I was wondering if the active target could be used with previous generation Lowrance units. Interesting, Also interesting the results on active target.

Can you run 2d, si/di at the same time that the AT is running?

Bass Pro is doing a Carbon unit for Black Friday so that should work with active target. It would be a deal for sure.
