Is the boat ramp open to the public on weekends

The sign says only annual pass

There was a previous thread that said only season pass folks can use it on the weekend

Then they should post it somewhere so the public can figure it out, even the web site is void of info for the boat ramp

They have signage that indicates it's CAN BE closed to member's on SOME weekends. Usually only holiday weekends

Well after fishing that lake this weekend they can stay closed for all I care. That lake is trashy. Literally and fishing wise. It's gonna take me a week to get all the grime off my boat. So if Chandlers is too uppity to take your money to launch....take your business elsewhere.

I recently launched there, paid the $18 at the electronic payment machine. Slid my credit card in and it said "payment processed, receipt printing". It was out of paper so it did not print the parking ticket to set on my dash. When I returned, there was a note on my truck to pay parking. I had to go prove that I had paid. Hubbard has gotten out of control on launch fees.

My wife voluntold me I was helping one of her friends kids out Saturday. For the HS kids they bumped the fee down to $10, you had to slide it through the door of the store. Lake was trashy, busy, had a nice Dallas sewer bloom going, and tough for the kids I was helping out. Chandlers ramp was decent though and I felt like my truck would still be there when we came in. My first time on RH and if I can help it, it may be my last.

We put in there Saturday as well. Not too crowded at the ramp and pretty smooth in and out. And I agree BB1. I felt comfortable my truck and trailer were there the whole day.

We have done decent on Hubbard because we have been fishing it for many years, but it is a toilet 100%. We actually nicknamed it lake sh!t pit many years ago. When the water gets about 4 feet low there are actually a bunch of toilets that someone dumped in the lake many years ago that you start to see at that level. roflmao

You used could go up north and there were miles of flats and grass and pretty water. But, with all the construction run off and all the trash the bank fisherman dump up there, that area is turning into the same sewer water. Funny thing is run up the west arm to the Rowlett creek area and there are matts of floating water bottles and trash that go on for hundreds of feet.

Population growth has def ruined the lake.

I thought it fished fine. Only thing that made it tough was the boats. 205 boats on that lake makes it fish real small! There was a point during the day in one of the marinas, we counted over 20 boats just in a 200 yrd. circle around us. Boys still caught fish and had a blast. I think its a great teaching tool for the kids. Not just the fishing side, but how to be courteous to other anglers and boats on the water.

We were in a good area to start, kids stopped fishing after an hour and were eating sandwiches already. I made three cast with a buzz bait in and around the stuff I had been telling them I thought was holding fish, saw the swirl, tried to pull it from the fish but ended up boating a nice 4lb. I felt horrible! On the positive side, catching the fish at least got them motivated and one of the kids had a blow up shortly after but missed. Anyway, we were around fish most of the day (I threw a little bait here and there and was shaking off fish) kids just struggled, said it was not like the ponds they are used to. We did catch one under a bridge, 4 boats were on that bent pole pattern quick and we were surrounded by other tourney fishermen. Gave me a chance to teach my kids a little etiquette. Not a horrible experience overall.

We got nervous fishing around the golf course? roflmao

No fish other than a 5 inch catfish that bit a crawfish bait.

We ran Fish For A Cure out of Chandlers yesterday. They cut the launch fee down for us and everyone that parked there knew their rigs would be safe and we had some residents come by and buy some tickets for our prize drawings and shirts the last couple years. It's been nothing but good for our event to be there.

Its an absolutely terrible choice for large tournaments. It has limited ramps, not a great fish population, and the spots are limited. THSBA should do better.

Hell, we were on Joe Pool last year.

200 boats on in a dirty bath tub and if you catch a 4 lber you get to throw it back.
