New marina/lodging @ Fork

I know they are building a new large ramp across from Oakridge on the Caney peninsula. I've heard everything from it will have a marina with lodging all the way to large hotel with convention type center. Anybody have the skinny on what all is going in?

Man I haven’t heard too much but what I have heard is that it’s supposed to be for the Elites, MLF, FLW, etc…. I think that it’s going to be a state regulated type ramp it’s supposed to be 6 lanes wide from what I’ve seen and from folks I’ve talked to

I think its a 10 story hotel/casino, with a mini-mall and about 6 restaurants,...large marina with renta-slips, and a petting zoo.
I heard that from a guide's wife sister in law.

All I know is that they screwed up a great pocket!

Yes it did! SRA is doing it all. From what Ive heard its going to be a big marina with ramps, lodging, etc. They first said the ramps were going to be on the Lil Caney side. But seeing they buoyed off all the way into Eugenes Ditch. Im guessing thats the side the ramps will be on. Not real sure. It's SRA. Sometimes I dont even think they know what they are doing! lol.

The ramps are already built. The extent of the project that I was aware of was the ramps and a pavilion for weigh-ins expos, ect.

Are they in Eugenes? I did not even go in there this Spring.

Yes, 6 lane ramp and beaching space for 100 boats. A new "lane" going in there as well.

The SRA made a huge mess at my boat storage facility. They cut the access out and filled in with dirt. Muddy mess and boat trailer drags getting onto 154. Once they had heavy equipment in front of the gate. Couldn't get in or out. They don't seem to respect other property or access to property.

I had tke same problem. They cut the driveway out and left about an 18" drop from the pavement of 154 to the entrance to the gate.
I left and went fishing and came back and couldnt get back in the storage facility (AW). I stopped my truck and boat right in the middle of the road, and made them put enough dirt back til we could get in. The Foreman got a piece of my mind, and was more than apologetic to resolve the problem..They dont care until someone complains,...I havent been there in 2 weeks, they were almost finished,..but now in the same area they are laying fiber opticx,...who knows,..

I'm trying to find a ste plan on their bid site. In the process, I just saw they are going to build tournament facilities on Twok as well...

Is the the park facing north before you cross the 154 causeway?

It's on the south-side - On the peninsula between Caney and Little Caney. Entrance is north of the bridge opposite the big SRA park (next to that little restaurant).
