He got covid last week at the same time Skeeter got it, he’s still in Wisconsin in ICU and the outlook is not good at all. Send some prayers up for a good dude and a regular on here please and throw an extra one up for Skeeter as well.

Update I got a few minutes ago was they were surprised he made it through the night. Not a good situation for him at all.

Just watched some of his recent facebooks posts. He was clearly struggling to speak and breath. He was trying to power through and finish out a tournament. Sounds like he was aware he was very sick and was doing his best to avoid spreading it. Wishing him the best and hope he pulls through.

I didn't do a good job of stating my thoughts. I definitely don't want this to be political, that's why I said listen to your doctor, because you should trust he or she. Also I believe god works in many ways, like giving us a vaccine and a way to survive this, but we definitely have a choice to make like seeking shelter when a tornado is coming or evacuating when a hurricane is coming, but if you don't ,prayers wont help much. Everyone stay safe.

Is there any update on Donnie? We lost a local guy yesterday after being on vent for 30 days

Rest in peace Donnie, happiest fisherman I've ever met. The guy fished hard and enjoyed every second of it. Even the little Wednesday nighters on lake Austin. Benefit tournament for him started at 6pm tonight, he passed shortly after....

My heart hurts and shed a lot of tears losing him, I know he fought to the end just as he did fishing, damn, I just hurt, prayers for his family, he was such a good man and friend.

I still cannot come to grips with this, when I met him last year he looked to be in really good shape, just a joy to talk to. I just cannot believe this is happening, Donnie would be the second person that I know that has died from Covid, I have another very dear friend fighting for his life right now, covid is real.

Just sad to hear this. That’s all. Hopefully his family finds peace in their memories of him.

I have caught way too many fish to count in my lifetime but there are very few that I will never forget. When you stop and really think about those special bass that are engrained into your soul, most of the time it is never really about the fish, but the moment and the people you were with that make all the difference. Thank you Donnie O'Neal for your role, not just in my memories, but on behalf of all the anglers you have touched.

Ive fished against Donnie for many years and never actually talk to him one of his partners was a good friend of mine so everything ive ever heard is he was a stand up guy prayers to him and his family we lost one of the good guys..

May I ask a question? Was Donnie or is Skeeter Fowler a smoker? Do either of them smoke? I work For a lab that is studying the ties to smoking and covid. Just curious.

I’m not aware the times I was around Donnie he was a smoker.
