I would say he’s the best SM and LM fisherman and he wins all over the country. He’s still young and could go back to BASS and win several classics. It’s a tall task to catch KVD but I think he’s got the best chance out of the current pros.

LOL why would he go back, ain't bad at 5 fish but is king of the every fish counts format. That would have been like Deon Sanders quitting footall to focus on baseball.

Wheeler can win waaaaay more money at MLF format than he could with BASS, and there are other guys that could be winning more money just fishing BASS or TWPC.

Simple. The classic is still the super bowl of bass fishing and I’m sure he wants to win at least 1. There’s a lot fans that still think the elites are the best…lots of BPT hatters will probably argue Fiddler is the best…guys like Frank.

No doubt he would have to win several AOYs and continue winning at this pace to even be mentioned as one of the best ever. I’m now pumping the brakes. Lol

He is very very good right now. I'd like to see him and John Cox go head to head, 1 tour only for a year. I think cox may be better, but I see perfectly how he may be the best in the world. He will have along way to go to catch KVD.

I like John Cox, but his specialty is shallow water fishing. If that doesn't work out, he does not have a whole lot in terms of Plan B. Wheeler is way more versatile than Cox and I don't think Cox could hang.

It's absurd. And the fact that he ISN'T winning AOY is bananas to me as well.
That shows how consistent Ott is.
And the fact that Brent Ehrler is 17 points behind Ott, 5 behind Wheeler is a helluva year so far as well. He's over $100k in winnings this year, without winning an event.

I'll take Wheeler as well, he is on a hot streak but far from the GOAT, go look at what KVD did from 2005 to the 2011 Classic, thats absurd, then later in 2016 he had a 4 tournament streak where he won 3 of them https://www.bassmaster.com/stats/anglers/kevin-vandam?filter=all
