Ray Roberts lost a big one

Ray Roberts lost a big one - 07/25/21 02:17 PM

Jim Mcilroy lost his fight with cancer last night. Before GPS,Spot Lock, Down Scan, and Livescope, Jim found and named almost every good spot on Roberts. He dominated every tournament he fished in the nineties. Yes there really was a 31 Hole. Jim found it and there were more tournaments won there than any hole will ever produce. I'm sure Jim and Mike Green are looking at a topo map right now.

RIP Jim. I fished with and against Jim and Mike Green many times. They were indeed legends in the early days of RayBob.

You referring to the Mike Green out of Hickory Creek? He was indeed a legend out of many lakes, was like my adopted father to me

So long old friend. Jim was the original guy that found 31 hole on Ray Roberts. Lake was high and it was so named because of depth. Lots of memories.

RIP Most insane 30 min of fishing in my life was on hole 31. He discovered an incredible spot that has been passed down many times. One of my best friends taught me the correct way to fish it and it can be pretty damn magical. Wish I had gotten to meet him.
