Joe Pool Tournie help - 06/25/21 09:01 PM

Fishing a tournie at Joe Pool... fished the lake twice like 15 years ago and have not been back. If anyone has some tips or techniques they do not mind sharing, would appreciate the assistance. Thank you.

The fish are up in the bushes super shallow, unless the level drops. I usually have pretty good success out there, but I went for the first time in a few months earlier this week and did not get one bite on my best deep spots. Went shallow, super shallow and fish where blowing up a frog

It's only 2.4 feet above full pool now so it may have changed some. I've had issues finding bigger fish this year. Been catching lots of little ones but last year had several 6's and 7's. This year my biggest is 6.5 and nothing else above 5. Patterns have just been off even from the same floods from last year. Had a 3.5 just smash a crank last time out and everything else was small. Thought for sure it was bigger. Also foul hooked a 13lb carp. That was the most fun I've had out there all year.

Good luck on the tourney.
