Graph mounting ideas?

Graph mounting ideas? - 06/22/21 03:07 PM

My graph is flush mounted but during the summer months it gets overheated and the sonar/down/sidescan readings stop and start every few seconds all day long. So, I need to mount the graph off of the center console to allow for airflow but should I be concerned about the gaping hole that will be in my console? Is there a way to cover that hole to protect all of the wiring within the console from rain and such?

They make a boat branded plate to put back over it. I removed a 5" graph in my old boat and considered making a "phone box" out of it, but never did. You can also just cut a piece of lexan the size of the old graph and cover it as well.

If you like the flush mount, consider drilling and installing a vent in the console to improve airflow.

Go to BoatLogix. They sell a mount that covers your existing console opening.

I do like the flush mount so I’ll start with a vent and see if that solves the issue. Thanks. If I end up needing to remove it from the flush mount and cover the hole in the console with a plate are those plates strong enough to secure a mount and graph to that? I’d like to keep the unit above the steering wheel if possible. Would rather not have it mounted on a ram mount on the side.

The plate with the mounts is metal and strong. Bass Boat Technologies is the one I used. Not boat branded, but definitely stout! Just make sure you get the right hardware for your boat/graphs.

Stand-by mode should help when you are not using it.
