Sam Rayburn water in the coves??.. - 05/09/21 08:57 PM

Well because of the crazy wind this weekend I was fishing deeper in the coves than I normally do. The lake is pretty muddy as well. I’m fishing the north end. Anyway back there, it looks like a really dark green algae bloom has happened. When you hit the trolling motor it will boil to the top. Really weird looking and very dark in the muddy water. Has anyone else seen this? Also once I’m in the water that has the green algae look to it I’m not getting any bites at all. Just wondering what’s going on. Thanks

be patient, someone will be a long shortly to spray something that will kill whatever it is

I hope it isn't some poisonous run off like they had at Murvaul.

Did they ever determine what it was at Murvaul?

No, spraying hasn't affected this lake that I know if. They've been spraying for atleast 20 years and the fishing has ups and downs according to water levels. They spray up north and guys still catch them there. I think this water level rise of 3ft plus increased water temps cause an algae bloom in certain spots
