Amistad question - 04/23/21 06:20 PM

How safe is it down there with the border problems? Wife want to go to ride on the lake and stay a night or two.

Thanks for the replies on the lake and another of my concerns is with the safety in the city and lodging.

If that’s the place near the Exxon it hasn’t been open for several years and I was there last weekend and don’t recall seeing anyone there. I’m not aware of any motel at the lake anymore, and hasn’t been for several years.

We used to stay at the Hampton, boat parking was a pain but it was safe and clean. We rent a house near the lake that is safe and secluded and owned by a fisherman.

Don't over think it, Ramada is decent for a motel with a good breakfast, and don't pick up any hitch hikers on the lake....

Let me know how it goes. trying to talk myself into heading there over the west texas lake we dont speak of so we wont upset the locals. Trying to get away from low water levels....and looks like they arent doing the best out that way

oh....and i pretty much posted a similar thread months ago. I got positive replies in the thread...and even had a few good people reach out to me for extra assurance and insights. I think you all will be good....but i never been personally LOL

I wouldn't stay in town, there are much nicer places around the lake. I was going to give you a number to call but I can't find it. mad
